Happy Friday!!

Whatsup world and Happy Friday!!

I try to acknowledge Friday every week as one of the smaller and less recognized holidays in this world.
In celebrating or wishing someone a happy Friday it symbolizes that hey we made it through another week and for that we should be happy!

So to all the world HAPPY FRIDAY and I hope you have many more ahead of you!!

Its a grand and glorious day today here in Ingolstadt!  The sun is shining the birds are chirping and I have no classes to worry about till monday!!  Woohoo!!

Nothing really planned for today so I decided to explore some of the backstreets of ingolstadt.  I find it interesting that even in some of the smallest ally ways you still find little shops and stores wedged everywhere!!!  Makes for a lot of variety in your everyday shopping cause there's always somewhere new to go.
Fun fact:  Walmart could not survive in most of the smaller cities in Germany because the people prefer the local shops and stores.  Go Germany for standing up for mom and pop stores everywhere!!
Another Fun Fact:  All of these local stores close by 7-8 in Ingolstadt, leaving nothing but pubs and a few restaurants open.  =(
And people wonder why Germans drink so much....There's NOTHING else open to do!!!

there are banners up for the festival of Saint George this weekend.
Huge festival in the center of town this weekend.  Tried to research what all its about but all I could come up with is that its a Catholic holiday with a lot of beer........So a German catholic excuse to drink =)
I also saw that they were setting up a huge stage in the town center!  dont know why yet but perhaps I will have to add my first audio file after this weekend!
Pedestrian Zone
Most cities in Germany have a Pedestrian zone where you can only walk through the street.  So I try to get out and walk the strip atleast once a day just to see whats going on.

Actually sunny enough to need a set of cheap sunglasses today.....gotta love the simple things in life
One of my first souvenirs
Necessity breeds...sunglasses?

In other exciting news.....Munich is playing in the football finals this year!!!!
Not only is this a once in a lifetime event to see but it will actually be shown in the town square!!  Football (Soccer) is so big here that an event like this will be one to rival octoberfest!
Picture:  Thousands of Germans cheering in the center of Munich, waving German flags and celebrating in honor of a team the entire country supports.
This will be like the Superbowl on steroids!

Anyways, not much else going on in my part of the world right now so time to wrap this up.

Happy Friday world and Ill keep you posted!!!

Whatsup world?

Whatsup World!?!?
So this is my first blog.....ever
was kinda bored today and this seemed like an interesting concept.  Get online and report/brag/complain/joke/quote or whatever.
so I figure I will give it a try.
first a couple side notes
  • hold your judgement on the grammar/spelling.. not an english major so already know it sux....dont care
  • please send feed back.  Good or bad, its always good to hear, and is almost always helpful in one way or another
  • Again this is first blog ever, so just kinda winging it.....hang with me =)
SO HERES ME!!
I am an international Biz and Management Major
I plan to eventually be a river boat captain
umm I have to many hobbies to list...so not even gonna try
and...
I am currently living in Ingolstadt Germany
The city gate attached to my dormatory....I live on the left
My room after 15 mins of cleaning for this pic
The giant catholic church right outside my window

I have been here almost a month now.....which I just realized means I only have three months left here as well =( (sad face)
Anyway I'm loving it so far!

The food consist of exactly what you would expect in Germany....sausage pretzals and of course fine german beer.  They also really love Doener,  some turkish sandwich like thing that they say was invented in germany.  The pic below is at a Bayrisch (Bavarian) restaurant in Munich. Its actually meatloaf and potatoes.  The round things on the other plate are Knudel... its made from bread and potato but has the consistancy of soft rubber.....=/
I dont recommend Knudel but the meatloaf was boss
I normally cook my own dinner during the week since I live right beside the dorms community kitchen.  I try to go out somewhere new every weekend though.
So I have had quite a few adventures since I have been here, but it seems a little impractical to write 10 blog pages of stuff that has already happened.   so instead of recapping for pages upon pages I will start this blog on today..... A warm 77 degree Thursday that has up to this point been fairly uneventful.....
I take that back!  I finally stopped procrastinating and started a blog!! =D
Class got canceled so I ended up just walking the streets of ingolstadt all day.  Probably gonna go find something to do at this point considering its only 3:35.....

Aufwedersehen for now world!  Ill keep you posted  =)
